This Darth Vader ballpoint pen drawing is part of my personal exploration of techniques for representing light and shadow using only pen strokes.
The challenge here was to capture the depth of Vader’s helme, the glossy highlights, subtle gradients, and sharp contrasts, while maintaining the imposing presence of the Sith Lord.
By layering crosshatching and controlling pressure, I built up the dark tones and reflective surfaces that define his iconic look. The result is a portrait that balances realism with the unique texture of ballpoint pen art.
