絆 – Kizuna – Life-long Bond

The Japanese term “絆” (pronounced “kizuna”) represents a deep cultural concept. Kizuna translates as “bonds” or “connections,” but it has a deeper, more emotional meaning. It delves into the idea of strong, unbreakable connections and the deep sense of unity, loyalty and mutual support that exist between individuals, families, friends or even within a community. Kizuna emphasizes the importance of these connections in Japanese society, highlighting the values of trust, loyalty and the enduring bonds that unite people through thick and thin.

This piece also contains an Enso Circle 円相, this is a circle made with brush in one stroke ink and originally comes from Zen culture. This reflects the artist’s mind at the time of composition by means of a single stroke, so it will be unique in each piece.
